Institució Cultural del CIC, which has been a benchmark in Catalan education for the last 50 years and currently teaches over 5,500 students, has been running professional courses in Physical Activities and Sports at its School of Vocational Qualifications for six years. Its innovative and ambitious curriculums have resulted in pioneering technical and personal training in both Catalonia and Spain.
The Intermediate Vocational Qualification in Outdoor Activity Leadership is a highly practical course and is organized around weekly visits and regular trips away: horse-riding with Maver Stables and the Municipal Horse-Riding School 'la Foixarda'; mountainside safety and survival (climbing, facilities and rope-handling, etc.); leading walking groups with 'd'Obrint Via', and leading bike rides with 'Probike'.
The higher level entry test preparation aims to provide a solid grounding in this field and includes the following specific technical subject groups:
- Water activities.
- Fitness and wellness activities.
- Outdoor physical activities and sports
All of these are studied every week throughout the course.
The Higher Vocational Qualification in Physical Activities and Sports Leadership, with the options available at CIC, gives students the opportunity to learn two very different professional roles that are currently in great demand: Outdoor exercise, and Fitness and Wellness.
The Outdoor course includes active participation from companies such as: Blaumar, Kayaking Costa Brava, Barcelona Municipal Sailing School, Obrint Via, SK Kayak and Gran Valira, all of which are top in their field. We also collaborate with the Andorran School for Sports and Mountain Professions, EFPEM.
For the Fitness and Wellness training we work with DiR Fitness Clubs and Agrupació Mútua, which provide our courses with their own technical teams and use of their cutting-edge sports and medical care facilities.
